Andy’s Job of the Month (March)

This month, Andy has chosen the promotional box we produced for Brouwerij Haacht Brewery as his ‘Job of the Month’.

Brouwerij Haacht tasked us with creating three different packaging layouts to hold a variety of glassware and bottles. Each sales kit showcased a different product line to sell into supermarkets such as Waitrose, Asda and Morrisons.

We advised the best design based on their budget and product requirements, while Brouwerij supplied some beautiful design assets which helped us create an elegant finished job.

The bottles and glassware were presented in a 4 part tuck flap case and base, using the gorgeous Colorplan racing green throughout. The inner case included a CAD cut pocket to hold printed literature (which was bespoke to each potential buyer) creating a real impact when the case is opened. The outer case was beautifully finished with gold foil emboss.

It was very important for the packaging to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The entire project was carbon balanced and we developed some alternative constructions to avoid using non-recyclable materials. 

We used our tuck flap closure method instead of using magnets, which are widely non-recyclable. Additionally, we had challenges in how to protect the glassware without using a more typical material such as foam. To solve this, we designed v-cut folding fitments which catered for the multiple glass shapes and negated the need for foam.

We initially produced 60 boxes and due to the success and feedback we have received so far, we are hoping there may be the opportunity to create more elaborate boxes moving forward.

The client was referred to us by our finishing suppliers Elite Cutters, who also foiled the sheets for us, and we hope this will be one of many projects we work on together!

We worked directly with the UK Sales Manager at Brouwerij Haacht. This was our first time working with them and it has been an absolute pleasure! We have been lucky enough to try pretty much all of their range throughout the process and can honestly say they are delicious! We look forward to working with them again in the future.
