Our Green Credentials

A sustainable future is important to all of us at Showcase Creative, both as a business and as individuals.

Being in the packaging industry, we feel an obligation to help our industry become better for the planet. So, when it comes to the environment, we put our money where our mouth is and invest in sustainable solutions.

Functional and Recyclable Packaging

Our core products are rigid boxes, which are usually designed with longevity in mind. The end user often keeps our boxes rather than throwing them away, using them to store items or repurpose them for other needs.

Of course, sometimes our boxes are thrown away. That’s why we do our best to reduce the environmental impact of our packaging. It’s our job to educate our clients on eco-friendly options and guide them during their design and purchasing decisions. The result is a product with the right balance of functionality and recyclability.

Our Facility is Wind Powered

To reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, we have decommissioned our gas system. Our facility now runs entirely on electricity supplied by Ecotricity, the UK’s leading green electricity provider. Their electricity is derived primarily from wind energy and other renewable sources.

Ecotricity is also the only UK provider of vegan electricity – click the link to learn more.

We Participate in Carbon Balancing

We have recently partnered with CarbonCO Ltd and the World Land Trust, organisations that assess the amount of CO2 we produce, allowing us to offset our environmental impact by investing in global conservation projects.

It’s a very credible organisation that boasts patrons such as Sir David Attenborough, Chris Packham, and Steve Backshall.

Our carbon credits contribute to a project that preserves Guatemalan rainforests.

As of the time of writing, we are the only dedicated rigid box manufacturer with this accreditation.

Considering the Environment Every Step of the Way

We reduce the environmental impact at every possible point of our production process.

In the packaging of our products for shipping, we use biodegradable pallet wrap and bubble wrap, and our cartons are made from recycled pulp. In addition, we are currently in the process of transitioning to paper packaging tape made from recycled pulp.

Our greyboard, our most frequently used raw material, is made from recycled material, and we recycle all of the recyclable waste material we produce at every stage.

As you can see, we pay careful consideration to every stage of production. From the initial design conception through to the final product, we use renewable energy, recyclable materials, and carbon balancing.
