Andy's Job of the Month (January)
At Showcase Creative, every month brings new challenges, and our latest venture with Sofi Health has certainly earned the spotlight as our 'Job of the Month.' Sofi Health, pioneers in plant-based formulations and fragrances, sought our expertise to showcase their innovative "plant pods" at an upcoming show. These pods are meticulously crafted to target specific areas like sleeplessness, anxiety, fatigue, focus, and overall wellbeing.
The challenge was clear – create a bespoke box that not only highlighted the uniqueness of the plant pods but also ensured their safety during transit. We embarked on a journey to craft a distinctive packaging solution, beginning with an initial run of 100 boxes, with plans to scale up in the future.
One of the main challenges was the creation of a hinge box, a construction we hadn't ventured into before. Thorough testing and the production of a plain sample were crucial steps to guarantee that the box not only met but exceeded expectations. Achieving near-perfect tolerances and meticulously sized slots for securely housing the delicate plant pods posed an additional challenge. The fitments were crafted using eco honeycomb board, aligning seamlessly with Sofi Health's commitment to sustainability.
To add complexity to the project, an internal lid was designed with a V-cut stepped board, preventing the products from moving or falling out during transit. This thoughtful design element not only showcased our attention to detail but also demonstrated our commitment to delivering a flawless product.
Aesthetic harmony was paramount, given the use of three different presses for the job. Our team dedicated extra care to ensure precise colour matching throughout the production process, resulting in a visually stunning final product. Considering the size of the packaging, a two-piece outer sleeve was essential to accommodate the larger dimensions that couldn't fit on a B1 sheet. We want to extend our appreciation to FE Burman for their exceptional work in printing the sleeve on their HP Indigo. Their meticulous attention to detail played a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and accurate colour representation.
Time was of the essence, especially with a tight deadline looming for Sofi Health's upcoming show. Despite the challenges, our team rallied together, leveraging our expertise and commitment to deliver the boxes promptly.
