Gymshark x Whitney Simmons Packaging

For the launch of the Gymshark Whitney Adapt collection, we were tasked with creating a premium packaging experience for athletes and influencers. The packaging needed to reflect the high-quality design of the clothing while delivering a striking unboxing moment.

The Concept

The packaging featured two separate boxes—one pink and one blue, colour-matched to the clothing—each with magnets on one side, allowing them to snap together seamlessly. This unique feature was developed in collaboration with Gymshark to represent two parts of one collection: distinct in colour and individual sets in their own right, yet coming together to form a cohesive whole.

Specification Overview

We created a Lid & Base Box using the following materials:

  • Base: 150gsm Silk, printed in full colour with an Anti-Scuff Matt Lamination.

  • Lid: 150gsm Silk, printed in full colour with an Anti-Scuff Matt Lamination, featuring Spot UV detailing in an animal print pattern—mirroring the clothing's design for a cohesive brand experience.

  • Liner: 150gsm Silk, printed in full colour with an Anti-Scuff Matt Lamination.

  • Magnets: 4 square magnets for seamless joining of the pink and blue boxes.

Before moving into production, we created detailed visuals of the packaging design and shared them with Gymshark for approval.

 

Dispatch & Protection

The project required a split dispatch to two locations:

  • 30 units were delivered initially.

  • The remaining 55 units followed a week later.

To protect the presentation boxes in transit, we designed a custom outer mailer, ensuring each box was securely packed before dispatch.

Conclusion

The final packaging solution delivered a premium unboxing experience, perfectly aligning with the Whitney Adapt collection’s aesthetic. The combination of bold colour choices, magnetic functionality, and high-quality finishing techniques ensured that Gymshark’s influencers and athletes received an unforgettable first impression of the new range.
