Case Study: The Bradley Collection – Swatch & Sample Packaging

Sample packaging needs to do more than look good - it needs to protect, organise, and present with precision. This project with The Bradley Collection is a strong example of getting that balance right.

The Brief

The Bradley Collection approached us through our website looking for a box to house a selection of their material samples. As these samples represent premium finishes, the packaging needed to reflect that same level of quality.

A key requirement was that each sample should be clearly displayed within the box, without touching, ensuring both protection and a clean, considered presentation.

The Approach

We developed a 4-part magnetic case and base, designed to offer a balance of structure, durability, and a premium feel.

Internally, the focus was on achieving a precise fit. The samples needed to sit securely in place while remaining easy to remove, so careful consideration was given to spacing and accessibility.

To achieve this, we incorporated a slight gap above the foam insert, allowing the samples to be easily lifted in and out without disrupting the overall layout.

Materials & Construction

The outer box was wrapped in Wibalin® Natural in Graphite, finished with an anti-scuff matt lamination to ensure longevity, particularly important for a box that will be handled regularly and kept for ongoing use.

For the internal fitment, we selected dark grey LD33 closed cell foam. This material offers both durability and a high-end appearance, making it ideal for protecting premium samples.

The foam was cut in-house at Showcase Creative, allowing us to adjust the fit by fractions of a millimetre. This level of precision ensured each sample sat perfectly within its allocated space.

Finishing Touches

The design was intentionally kept clean and minimal, allowing the materials inside to take centre stage.

To maintain consistency with The Bradley Collection’s existing branding, we matched the foil detailing to their brochure using Kurz Luxor 420 in gold. This subtle detail ties the packaging into their wider brand identity while adding a refined finishing touch.

The Result

The final box delivers a premium, practical solution for presenting material samples. It protects each item, keeps them perfectly organised, and reflects the quality of the finishes inside.

With 300 units produced, the result is a durable, long-term packaging solution that supports both presentation and usability. This project demonstrates how thoughtful design and precise engineering can elevate even the most functional packaging formats.
